*The calculation formulas for your corrective goggle lens are as below. These two equations are basically the same, except the terms are different.
(A) Sphere + 1/2 Cylinder = Goggle Diopter
(B) Myopia + 1/2 Astigmatism = Goggle Diopter
Below are brief explanations for these terms:
1)OD: Right eye
2)OS: Left eye
3)Myopia or Sphere: Nearsighted degree of weakness
4)Astigmatism or Cylinder: Degree of astigmatism
Examples:
Sphere or Myopia is -5.0, Cylinder or astigmatism is -1.0: Goggle dopier should be -5.5
Sphere or Myopia is -3.0, Cylinder or astigmatism is -2.0: Goggle diopter should be -4.0
Sphere or Myopia is -5.0, Cylinder or astigmatism is +1.0: Goggle diopter should be -4.5
Sphere or Myopia is -5.0, Cylinder or astigmatism is +2.0: Goggle diopter should be -4.0
Since corrective goggles are pre made, they do not cover all diopters, if your calculation fall between 2 steps diopters (-4.75), you always pick the lower diopter(-4.5). This way it will give you less stress on your eyes.
When you have different diopters on right eye(OD) and left eye(OS), we recommend you purchase one pair of right eye diopter and one pair of left eye diopter goggle. We'll re-assembly the lens into 2 pair of your desire diopter goggles. ie: Your right eye(OD) is -5.0, left eye(OS) is -7.0, you purchase one pair of -5.0 goggle and one pair of -7.0 goggle, we'll send you 2 pair of -5.0 (OD), -7.0 (OS) goggles. Fitting of the goggle is very flexible, it was designed for one size fit all. There are head strap adjustment on both sides of the lens, a 3 steps nose bridge is used for changing goggle width (S.M.L). Goggles gasket and head strap are made from soft silicon and rubber. Anti-fog coating is applied to the lens to keep fog from covering eyesight. Anti-leak unique design is made possible by using dual layers soft silicon suction cup. Goggles lens are made from top quality harden polycarbonate with absolutely flat front surface.
